Within the framework of their joint project "Building the Capacities of Young Men and Women in Qatar in the area of Social Entrepreneurship", and building on the first two workshops on the Training of Trainers (TOT) in social entrepreneurship (SE), ESCWA and the NAMA Center are facilitating two additional training workshops, TOT: Part II, in Doha, Qatar from 2 to 4 November and 6 to 8 November 2021.
The two additional sessions were developed in response to feedback from the participants in the first TOT (11 – 14 October 2021). They were designed to meet the NAMA Center's call for investment in new trainers so as to enhance their facilitation skills and knowledge of core SE concepts. The workshops will serve to build a solid cohort of young trainers that can then deliver training sessions independently. The two workshops draw together 28 young people, working in two groups. Each participant is given the opportunity to individually lead and present a workshop session and hone their facilitation skills. Qatari social entrepreneurs are invited to share their knowledge, journeys and experiences, with the workshops including discussions of case studies and success stories.
The aims of the workshops include:
- Increasing the technical knowledge of participants around the concept of SE and key notions covered in the first workshops;
- Sharing further practical and interactive material around SE and training facilitation;
- Offering 'Consultation Clinics' where participants are referred to a member of ESCWA's training team and receive one-on-one support in facilitation methodologies and workshop preparation.
