The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO-RNE) lead on this Zoominar session to highlight the role of the private sector in the use of innovation and technology and the potential role of the public-private partnership and regional cooperation in reaching out to smallholders and building their resilience to crises, disasters and COVID-19 pandemic. The Zoominar will address the following questions: 1. What are the elements of success of technology, innovation and digitization initiatives under COVID-19? 2. What policies and strategies are needed to strengthen private-public partnership and supporting innovation and technology adoption? 3. What framework is needed to strengthen regional cross border collaboration in agri-food system innovation and technology?
