The Social Justice Team of the Gender Justice, Population and Inclusive Development Cluster at ESCWA, in cooperation with the Planning Institute and the National Sustainable Development Committee of the Ministry of Planning of Libya, is organizing a training programme on integrating the principles of social justice and equality into public policies and strategies.
This training programme is the first phase of technical support provided by ESCWA to Libya with the aim of developing a national plan to integrate social justice principles into national and sectoral planning. The workshop builds the capacity of national officials and experts to develop equality-oriented plans and programmes while emphasizing participatory approaches to further the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Leave No One Behind principle.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
- Enhance the knowledge and skills of relevant officials on how to integrate social justice principles into planning and implementation processes
- Build the capacities of officials to identify social justice gaps using the Social Justice Policy Gap Assessment Tool
- Build the capacities of officials on the design and implementation of equality-oriented policies and strategies.
