1.The secretariat of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) prepared the proposed organization of work of the fifth session of the Committee on Women in order to facilitate the consideration of the agenda items within the specified timeframe. The Committee will be presented with the proposed organization of work enclosed in this document and shall adopt it as submitted or with amendments.
2.The opening session of the Committee on Women will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, 19 December 2011. The Committee is expected to convene six sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in accordance with the proposed organization of work annexed to this document.
3. Each presentation shall last 10 to 15 minutes and the following discussion 30 minutes. Should the discussion of an item be completed before the specified time, the meeting will move on to the next item. The fifth session of the Committee on Women will end at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 21 December 2011.
