The Arab Mayors Academy, launched in July by ESCWA, UN-Habitat and UCLG-MEWA, kicked off its webinars on 14, 21 and 28 August.
The first webinar delved into the core concepts of smart sustainable cities through real-world examples, showcasing how cities leverage innovation and smart and digital solutions for sustainable planning to improve citizen experiences.
The second webinar tackled the future of city transportation, focusing on creating inclusive and accessible systems for all. It explored innovative solutions that integrate technology and infrastructure development. Meanwhile, the third webinar discussed how local action and strategic planning can transform the urban environment. It went into practical tips for promoting public health, environmental sustainability, and improved safety and security.
